BMW glass has a few quirks worth knowing before you book.
BMW mounts its KAFAS forward camera to the windshield on most models from the F and G generations onward. After replacement, the camera is recalibrated with a BMW-specific procedure so lane departure warning, speed limit info, and front collision warning read correctly.
Many BMWs use acoustic laminated glass, and a lot of them have a heads-up display that needs a specific HUD windshield with a wedge interlayer. Infrared-reflective glass and heated wiper park areas are also common. Using the wrong part causes a doubled HUD image or a camera that will not calibrate.
